There are currently no railways in Rwanda. However, a study was completed in 2010 for a new 690km standard (1435mm) gauge line from Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania to Bujumbura in Burundi, running through Rwanda and serving the capital, Kigali. No date has yet been given for the commencment of works.
