Nevada Northern Railway 2-8-0 #93 at work on the

- Carson & Mills Park Railroad 2 ft (610 mm) gauge
miniature railway about 1¼ miles (2 km) in length, located in Mills Park,
Carson City. Operates weekends and some weekdays from late May to

cars attached to Amtrak services between Emeryville CA and Reno, offering
meals and entertainment.
- Nevada Northern
Railway two routes, East Ely to Keystone and East Ely to McGill
Junction. Standard gauge, steam or diesel hauled. Operates most
weekends from mid April to February, daily (except some Tuesdays)
from mid-May to September.
- Nevada Southern Railway Boulder City to Railroad
Pass, about 3½ miles (5.6 km). Standard gauge, diesel hauled.
Operates most weekends throughout the year.
- Nevada State Railroad Museum Carson City. Train
rides on a short length of line in the museum grounds. Standard gauge,
steam hauled train or rail diesel car. Operates weekends and holidays
from May to September, and for special events in October and December.
Explorers (Las Vegas Division): railbikes (pedal powered rail
speeders) on the route of the Nevada Southern Railway. Riders travel
downhill from Boulder City to Railroad Pass, returning by train.
Operates most weekends from November to April.
- Virginia & Truckee Railroad Carson City to
Virginia City, about 13 miles (20 km); an extension of about 4 miles
(6 km) to downtown Carson City is proposed. Short out and return
journeys from Virginia City to Gold Hill are also offered. Standard
gauge, usually steam hauled at weekends, diesel hauled on Fridays.
Operates Fridays to Sundays, late May to October, and for special
