BUS: Every Day: regular services from Manchester, Macclesfield, Hanley, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham and various local destinations.

TRAIN: (station in lower part of town centre): Every Day: roughly every hour from Manchester.

CAR: town centre car parks are convenient but difficult to find a place in the latter part of the week when the funfair occupies the Market Place. However, it is usually possible to find on street parking a little away from the town centre.

WELL DRESSINGS: four:

on the west side of the Market Place. In the latter part of the week, this is in the midst of the funfair
on The Crescent
a Well Dressing with 3 separate faces on Spring Gardens, at its junction with The Quadrant.
on Water Street, opposite the Opera House, between Manchester Road and the Victorian Post Box. This was a new site for 2008, replacing one inside former Tourist Information Centre on The Crescent.

WELLS IN THE MAKING: the boards are petalled during the preceding few days, in St John the Baptist Church (on the A53). Visitors are welcome.
