In Monsal Dale, on a minor road between Litton and Monsal Head (on the B6465 Ashford to Wardlow road).

BUS: Mondays to Fridays: 2 per day from Tideswell and Bakewell; 1 per day from Castleton; Saturdays: 1 per day from Tideswell and Bakewell; Sundays: no service. Alternatively walk from Monsal Head (about 2.5km, bus services as Little Longstone) or from Litton (about 3km).

CYCLE: the Monsal trail runs alongside the River Wye in the valley below the village.

CAR: at busy times can be difficult to park either in the village car park or on High Street. There is some parking near the church (about 500m to the west of the village) but this can get full also.

WELL DRESSINGS: three:

• the Main Well, on open space just down steep footpath from High Street, near the eastern end of the village
• the Children's Well, at the other end of High Street, near the junction with the road leading to the lower village.
• at the road junction halfway up the short, steep road route through the village, near Cressbrook Hall.

WELL IN THE MAKING: the main dressing is made over the course of the preceding week in the garage of Old Chapel House. Dressing is open for viewing all day, work takes place mainly in afternoons and evenings. Contact Mrs Jill Garmeson 01298 872240 for further details.
