About 9km southwest of Sheffield City Centre, between the A621 Bakewell and A625 Castleton roads.

BUS: Mondays to Saturdays: every ½ hour, Sundays: hourly, from Sheffield City Centre. Also at Dore Moor pub (about 1km north of village on A625): Mondays to Saturdays: at least 1 per hour from Sheffield, hourly from Bakewell, roughly every 1½ hours from Castleton, every 2 hours from Buxton; Sundays: at least 1 per hour from Sheffield, hourly from Castleton, every 2 hours from Bakewell, 3 per day from Buxton. Derbyshire Wayfarer valid on services to and from Dore Moor, but not on the service between the City Centre and Dore village.

TRAIN: (station about 2km east of village centre): Every Day: every 1 to 2 hours (Saturdays hourly) from Sheffield and Manchester. Derbyshire Wayfarer valid.

CAR: car parking is usually relatively easy in the village.
