About 2km south of the A38 Sutton-in-Ashfield bypass between M1 junction 28 and Mansfield. Also accessible from the A611 Nottingham to Mansfield via Hucknall.

BUS: Mondays to Saturdays: frequent services from Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Nottingham; hourly from Derby and Heanor. Sundays: at at least 2 per hour from Mansfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield; hourly from Nottingham and Ripley; every 2 hours from Heanor.

TRAIN: Mondays to Saturdays: hourly from Nottingham and Worksop; Sundays: no service.

CAR: Use the Portland Park car park.

WELL DRESSING: one, at the pond in Portland Park.
Portland Park is situated about 1km south of Kirkby-in-Ashfield town centre along Lindleys Lane. There are several alternative entry points to the Park for walkers: consult a local map. If driving, or walking from Kirkby town centre, follow the brown tourist sign pointing off Station Road to the Park. After reaching the car park, follow the footpath to the Visitor Centre (disabled drivers may park at the Visitor Centre). Continue a few metres past the Visitor Centre, then down the steps to your right. An alternative route is available that is suitable for wheelchairs, although it is considerably longer. Directions for this, and a map of the Park, can be obtained from the Visitor Centre.

DEMONSTRATION: a small additional board is petalled over the course of the weekend in the Visitor Centre.
