Just off the B5032 Cheadle road about 1.5km SW of the A52 Ashbourne to Leek road at Hanging Bridge.
BUS: Mondays to Saturdays: every 1 to 2 hours from Ashbourne and Uttoxeter (Derbyshire Wayfarer valid on all journeys, including to and from Uttoxeter); Sundays: no service. Also at Mayfield (about 1km): Mondays to Saturdays: hourly from Derby and Ashbourne (Derbyshire Wayfarer valid) Sundays: no service. Also at Hanging Bridge (about 1.5km): Mondays to Saturdays: roughly every 3 hours from Ashbourne, Leek and Macclesfield (Derbyshire Wayfarer not valid for journeys beyond Leek) Sundays: every 3 hours from Ashbourne, Leek and Derby.
CAR: Middle Mayfield is about 1km west of Mayfield village. Look out for signs to the Well Dressings on the north side of the road. Car parking is usually provided in the village, but may be dependent on weather.
WELL DRESSINGS: three: the Peace Well, the Middle Well and the Children's Well, all located along Hollow Lane, a footpath leading west from the centre of the village. A fourth dressing at The Trough Well, on the village street near the southern of its two junctions with the B5032, did not appear in 2008.
WELLS IN THE MAKING: the dressings are made over the course of the preceding few days, between about 10a.m. and 5p.m., at Old Hall Farm.
