Members of 507 STRE with locomotive
Members of 507 STRE pose for a photograph on the occasion of Armed Forces Day, 2020.
The locomotive, now privately owned, was formerly used by the Defence Logisitics Organisation, whose livery it still carries.

The British Army no longer has a dedicated railway operating department. However, it may from time to time be called upon to perform construction or repair of railway infrastructure.

That function would carried out by 507 Specialist Team Royal Engineers (Railway Infrastructure), who also perform regular excercises, sometimes in conjunction with other railway organizations. The team form part of 65 Works Group (Reserves) based at Chetwynd Barracks near Nottingham.
