Dominica

The island Commonwealth of Dominica should not be confused with the Dominican Republic, which forms the eastern part of the island of Hispaniola.

Relic of the former forestry railway in the form of a ruined bridge which once spanned the Indian River near Portmouth

A steam hauled, 3 foot (914mm) gauge railway was built on Dominica some time before 1910 by a forestry company for the purposes of carrying timber the port of Portsmouth. The line had been abandoned by 1914.
