• Brückenberg-Kohlenbahn Zwickau former coal mining line on the outskirs of Zwickau. About 1.7km, standard gauge, riding on the footplate of historic diesel shunters. Operates one weekend each month, May to October (except July), or by private arrangement (Site in German)
• Döllnitzbahn Oschatz to Glossen, 16.1km, 750mm gauge. Steam hauled services operate one or two weekends each month except August, diesel hauled numerous days May to August. A diesel hauled school service operates weekdays during school terms (Site in German)
• Drahtseilbahn Augustusburg metre gauge funicular from the station at Erdmannsdorf (east of Chemnitz) to Augustusburg, 1.2km with a rise of 168m. Operates daily throughout the year (Site in German)

• Eisenbahnmuseum Schwarzenberg museum offering occasional steam or diesel hauled or diesel railcar excursions on the German and Czech national networks from stations in the Schwarzenberg area (Site in German)
• Eisenbahnnostalgie Vogtland Adorf (Vogtland), On depot open days (typically one each year) a shuttle service is provided from Adorf (DB station) to the depot. 1km, standard gauge, historic diesel railbus. The railbus is also available for charter services (Site in German)
• Erzgebirgische Aussichtsbahn Schwarzenberg (Erzgebirge) to Annaberg-Buchholz. 26.7km, standard gauge, steam hauled or historic diesel railbuses. Operates typically 3 wekkends each year (Site in German)
• Erzbahn former mine railway at Dreiwerden, near Rossau. 0.6km, 600mm gauge, battery electric hauled using former industrial equipment. Operates about 5 days each year, or by private arrangement (Site in German)
• Feldbahn Glossen quarry museum near the Glossen station of Döllnitzbahn with a 600mm gauge line. Diesel hauled using former industrial equipment. Operates typically 2 weekends each year or by private charter (Site in German)
• Feldbahn Herrenleite mining museum near Lohmen offering rides on a 0.5km, 600mm gauge line. Diesel hauled using former industrial equipment. Operates Saturdays, May to October, and on a few other days for special events (Site in German)
• Fichtelbergbahn Cranzahl to Kurort Oberwiesenthal, 17.4km with a rise of 239m, 750mm gauge, steam hauled. Operates daily for most of the year (Site in German)
• Lößnitzgrundbahn Radebeul Ost to Radeburg, 16.6km, 750mm gauge, steam hauled. Operates daily throughout the year (Site in German)
• Museumsbahn Schönheide Schönheide to Stützengrün Neulehn, 3.9km. 750mm gauge, usually steam hauled. Operates one or more days each month throughout the year (Site in German)
• Museumsfeldbahn Leipzig-Lindenau Line about 2km in length, 800mm gauge, diesel hauled using former industrial equipment. Operates on various days during the year, or by private charter (Site in German)
• Preßnitztalbahn Steinbach to Jöhstadt in the Erzgebirge near the Czech border. 8.4km, 750mm gauge, steam or diesel hauled. Operates weekends, holidays, and a few other days, mid April to October and in December (Site in German)
• Rauschenthalbahn Waldheim to Kriebenau. 2.7km, 600mm gauge, diesel hauled. Operates one weekend each month, May to October (Site in German)

• Sächsischen Schmalspurbahn-Museum Rittersgrün. 0.5km line from the museum, 750mm gauge, steam or diesel hauled. Operates Saturdays, May to September, and on a few other days during the year (Site in German)
• Schienentrabi Rochlitz to Penig, about 18km, standard gauge, although the majority of journeys cover only sections of the line. Powered works vehicles. Operates typically 2 or 3 weekends each month, May to September, or by private charter (Site in German)
• Schwarzbachbahn 750mm gauge line about 800m in length from Lohsdorf station. Extensions proposed. Usually diesel hauled, steam haule for special events. Operates on a nember of days each year, or by private charter (Site in German with some information in English)
• Waldeisenbahn Muskau Bad Muskau via Weißwasser to Kromlau. Another section, from Weißwasser to Schwerer Berg, is currently closed for rehabilitation, planned reopening around 2026. 600mm gauge, steam or diesel hauled. • Weißeritztalbahn Freital-Hainsberg to Kurort Kipsdorf, 26.3km, 705mm gauge, usually steam hauled. Operates daily for most of the year (Site in German)
• Werners Gartenbahn Private railway in Löbau, available for charter by prior arrangement. 0.2km, 600mm gauge, steam or diesel hauled using former industrial equipment. There is also a miniature railway (Site in German)
• Wernesgrüner Schienen-Express Schönheide Süd to Carlsfeld. 7.4km. Standard gauge, open wagons hauled by diesel powered works vehicle. Operates one or two days each month, April to October, or by private charter (Site in German)
• Wilder Robert shares the route of Döllnitzbahn from Oschatz to Nebitzschen, than takes the branch to Kemmlitz, total distance 17.5km. Steam or diesel hauled. Operates most days when Döllnitzbahn is operating, except school service days (Site in German)
• Windebergbahn Dresden-Gittersee to Freital-Birgkigt, about 5km, standard gauge, with gradients of up to 2.5%. Diesel hauled. Operates on a few days each year (Site in German)
• Wisentatalbahn Schönberg to Schleiz West (Thüringen), 16km. Standard gauge, historic diesel railbuses (Site in German, contains no details of operating days)
• Zittauer Schmalspurbahn Zittau via Bertsdorf to Oybin (12.2km), with a branch from Bertsdorf to Jonsdorf (2.8km). 750mm gauge, steam or diesel hauled. Operates Sundays, January and March; weekends and holidays April to October; weekends in December

Miniature Railways

• Parkeisenbahn Auensee in Leipzig; a 1.8km circuit on the shores of the Auensee, 381mm gauge, steam and diesel hauled. Operates Tuesdays to Sundays and public holiday Mondays, April to October (Site in German)
• Parkeisenbahn Chemnitz in the Küchwaldpark; 2.3km circuit, 600mm gauge, usually diesel hauled, steam hauled for special events. Operates Tuesdays to Sundays and public holiday Mondays, late March to early November, also a few days in December (Site in German)
• Parkeisenbahn Dresden in the Großer Garten; 5.6km, 381mm gauge, steam, diesel or battery electric hauled. Operates Wednesdays to Sundays, April to October
• Görlitzer Oldtimer Parkeisenbahn 600mm gauge, usually hauled by diesel powered replica steam locomotive, but occasional trips with historic steam or diesel industrial locomotives. Operates weekends and public holidays, April to September, also Wednesdays in July and August (Site in German)
• Parkeisenbahn Plauen in the Syratal. 1.1km, 600mm gauge. Overhead electric traction supply, the only public miniature railway in Germany so powered (Site in German)

Historic Trams

• Döbelner Pferdebahn historic horse tram route from the museum in Döbeln. Metre gauge, about 750m in length. Operates one Saturday each month, May to October
• Kirnitzschtalbahn rural tram route bewtween Bad Schandau and Lichthainer Wasserfall, operated by historic vehicles. 7.9km, metre gauge. Operates daily throughout the year (Site in German)
