Tourist and Museum Railways

• Dampfzug Betriebs Gemeinschaft offers occasional excursions from their museum in Loburg to Altegrabow (11.7km). Standard gauge, diesel hauled (Site in German)
• Harzer Schmalspurbahn extensive (130km) network of metre gauge lines in the Harz Mountains, providing freight, local passenger and tourist services. Most passenger services are steam hauled. The Brocken station is just 20m below the 1142m summit. Operates daily throughout the year (Site in German)
• Kreisbahn des Krieses Jerichow 1 Lumpenbahnhof to Magdeburgerforth Mitte, about 1.8km. 750mm gauge, diesel hauled. Operates around 10 days each year. There is also a short 600mm gauge line at Magdeburgerforth (Site in German)
• Lokschuppen Staßfurt occasional steam or diesel hauled excursions from their base at Staßfurt (Site in German)
• Mansfelder Bergwerksbahn Benndorf to Hettstedt, 10.7km. 750mm gauge, usually steam hauled. Operates Saturdays, April to early October (Site in German)
• Röhrig Schacht visitors to the historic mine near Wettelrode are carried underground on a narrow gauge railway over 1km in length. Battery electric hauled. Operates Wednesdays to Sundays and public holiday Mondays throughout the year (Site in German)
• Rübelandbahn Blankenburg (Harz) to Rübeland, 14.2km. Some journeys additionally run between Blankenburg and Halberstadt, a further 21.3km. Standard gauge, usually steam hauled. Operates on a few days at various times of the year (Site in German)

• Parkeisenbahn Halle on the Peißnitzinsel, Halle (Saale). 600mm gauge, diesel or battery electric hauled. Operates Wednesdays to Sundays, April to October (Site in German)
• Parkeisenbahn „Krumbholz“ in Bernburg. 1.9km, 600mm gauge, diesel hauled. operates Wednesdays to Mondays, late March to October (Site in German)
• Parkeisenbahn Vatterode from the outskirts of Vatterode to Vatterode Lake. 500mm gauge, diesel hauled. Operates several days each month, april to October (Site in German)
