There are no railways on Bali.
In 2022, plans were announced for an ambitious 4 line, 90km light rail Metro system covering much of the heavily populated southern part of the island. A ground breaking ceremony took place in 2024, but construction was not progressed.
In 2026, it was announced that plans for the Metro had been dropped in favour of a trackless rapid transit line (essentially a form of guided bus) connecting I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport with the resort area of Canggu.
