A vehicle of the Lusail Tram network

The first railway in Qatar was a 40km section of the Doha Metro Red Line between the stations of Al Qassar and Al Wakrah, openied in 2019. This forms part of an extensive planned network of metro and tram lines.

Plans for the future include a passenger and freight railway linking the country with Saudi Arabia.
